The Sixth National Field Event of Power Engineers with international participation was held in seaside resort Albena from September 24 th to September 28 th, 2008. More than 1300 people from 22 unions in the field of power engineering from Bulgaria, Romania and Russia participated in 15 sport disciplines mini football, volleyball, beach volleyball, table tennis, chess, bridge, tennis, darts, tug of war, swimming, basketball (streetball), track and field athletics, shooting with air gun, bowling and orientation.
The Field Event was opened by Mr. Georgi Petrov, President of the National Federation of Power Engineers in Bulgaria. Official guests of the opening ceremony were Mr. Ivan Markov - Executive Director of Mini Maritsa Iztok, Mr. Alexander Videnov - Head of Repair Works Department of NPP Kozloduy, Mr. Boris Pekov - Executive Director of Radioactive Waste, Mr. Mincho Minchev - Executive Director of Varna Steam Power Plant PLC, Mr. Petko Panovski - Director of HPS Rodopi Group, Mr. Anatoli Tokmakchiev - member of the Board of Directors of E-ON Bulgaria, Mr. Valentin Kiurkhiiski - Deputy Executive Director of Bobov Dol Steam Power Plant, and representatives of the Power Engineers organizations from Slovenia, Greece, Turkey and Romania. The closing ceremony was presided by Mr. Petar Dimitrov, Minister of Economy and Energy.
The first place in the complex ranking was taken by the team of NPP Kozloduy with 142 points, followed by the teams of Varna Steam Power Plant PLC with 124 points and Atom-Sport ( Russia) with 69 points. The Fair Play Cup was won by the team of CEZ Bulgaria.
