07.10.20008 – Desislava Yagodin elected as member of the Executive Committee of CSIT

During the 37th Congress of the International Confederation for Workers’ Sport (CSIT), which was held from November 2nd to November 7th, 2008, in Tel Aviv, Israel, Mr. Harald Bauer from ASKO (Austria) was elected as the new President of the Confederation. This Congress makes history in amateur sport for two reasons:

For the first time two women were elected as members of the Executive Committee: Mrs. Desislava Yagodin – President of BWSF and Mrs. Sirpa Paatero – President of TUL (Finland).
For the first time in the history of CSIT, which was established in 1913, a Bulgarian was elected as member of the Executive Committee.

The International Confederation for Workers’ Sport enters a new stage of it’s development, namely the organizing and carrying out of World Workers’ Games. This idea originates exactly from Bulgaria. Initiated by the idea of Dr. Zhelyazko Hristov – President of CITUB and Mr. Kostadin Parzulov, then President of BWSF, the First World Workers’ Sports Games were held in Albena seaside resort in 2005.
