Bulgarian Workers’ Federation is a regular member of the World Workers' Sport Federation from 1993 onwards. Associated member of theConfederation of the Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB)

In 2007 the federation was admitted to regular membership of the European Federation for Company Sports (EFCS)

On April 2nd, 2008 Bulgarian Workers’ Federation was given a sports licence by the Ministry of Physical Education and Sports.


Main activities of the federation:
  • Development and expanding amateur sport among working people
  • Building workers’ sports clubs singlehandedly and together with the trade union structures and other sports institutions and links
  • Organizing and carrying out of territorial and branch sports events – festivals, field events, tournaments etc.  
  • Working on annual sports calendar for international, republican, branch and regional sports events
  • Annually organizes international workers’ sports festival with 17 kinds of sports with  participation of 
  • more than 220 teams from differentcountries from Europe, Asia and Africa
  • In 2005 the Open Balkan Workers’ Sport Festival “The Balkans Invite for Peace” developed into World Workers’ Sport games “For Peace and Solidarity”

The Sixth National Field-Day of Teachers and employees in the system of secondary education, members of the Trade Union of Bulgarian Teachers, with international participation, was held in Albena resort from July 7th to July 11th, 2010, in Albena resort. The Second Bank Field-Day of the employees of United Bulgarian Bank will be held from September 3rd to September 6th, 2010, in Albena resort. The field-day will include competitions in mini football, beach volleyball, table tennis, streetball and tug of war.
